Hydraulic Jacks

A jack is used for lifting heavy loads by applying force. The mechanism using which force is applied can be different, based on the kind of jack. There are two types of force employed by jacks, one is hydraulic and other is mechanical. In these two jacks, hydraulic jack is stronger and capable of lifting heavier loads. Force generated by pressure is a prime factor of these jacks. There are two cylinders, one large and one small, connected with each other. When force is applied to either of cylinder, equal pressure is generated in both cylinders. This is because even the larger cylinder will generate higher force, the pressure in both cylinders will remain the same. For lifting heavy loads, these jacks use pump plungers for moving oil through two cylinders.
